Skenes earned the starting role for the National League in the All-Star Game on July 15 at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves. He will go up against Detroit Tigers left-hande

This will be Skenes' second All-Star appearance. In the 2024 MLB All-Star Game, Skenes pitched one inning, allowing zero hits and one walk. The 23-year-old will look to dominate a few American League batters as he starts the game in Atlanta, Georgia.

Prior to Skenes, the youngest pitcher to start back-to-back All-Star Games was the Philadelphia Phillies’ Robin Roberts, who started in 1950 and ‘51 at ages 23 and 24, according to STATS Perform. And while Skenes’ record is only 4-8, that is largely a product of his average run support, which is the third worst in the majors.
