A thrilling 2025 golf season has reached its final major as The Open Championship continues its 153rd playing this weekend at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland. The oldest golf tournament in the world is back in Portrush for the first time in six years with the Claret Jug set to be awarded on site Sunday for just the third time in event history.

Finau fired a 1-over-par 72 in the third round to go with his rounds of 70-68 and that effort left him watching the contenders pull away. Most of the movers and shakers fired rounds of four to five under par as Scottie Scheffler rocketed to a huge lead heading into Sunday.

To have a tee time for Saturday’s third round of the 2025 British Open means you successfully navigated the opening two rounds at Royal Portrush. Sounds simple, but that’s quite the accomplishment considering how long and grueling those two rounds tend to be—first shot off at 6:35 a.m. local time, final group off the 18th green just before 10 p.m.

Adding to the many cool sights at Royal Portrush’s historic links this week was the British Open leaderboard showing Danish twins Rasmus and Nicolai Hojgaard in the top 10.
