Tayjahn Thomas, 23, was shot and killed in his home at the Renaissance at Lowry Boulevard apartment complex at 550 Alton Way on Tuesday, Denver police said.

A man was shot and killed in Springfield on Saturday night, the Springfield Police Department confirmed. Police responded to the 2700 block of Main Street around 11:20 p.m. for a report of a gunshot victim, according to a statement released by Ryan Walsh, a spokesperson for the Springfield Police Department.

Upon arrival at the home on Nichols Road, officers entered and encountered the victim and suspect inside. Police say the suspect held the victim hostage with a knife to the victim’s throat.
