Madigan was sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison​, following his conviction on bribery, conspiracy, and fraud charges.

Madigan’s attorneys say the 83-year-old politician isn’t a flight risk and that there are complex legal issues which, if resolved in his favor, will require a new trial.
